National Netball Coach Essay Example for Free

National Netball Coach Essay The national England Netball coach Lesley Dixon does not have to organise matches or transport because the league it self sorts them details out. Mrs Hyams on the other hand has to contact other local teams and sort out matches and tournaments, and means of transport for hers players, which can be stressful and time consuming. When Lesley Dixon has picked her team for a match from her squad she then tells the Netball associate, who then inform the players and provide them with information. When Mrs Hyams has picked the team, she then has to go and find them to tell them. She then has to provide them with fixtures that she has done herself. Lesley Dixon has to has alot netball coaching experience having spent 8 years with Hertfordshire County and later as manager for the England FENA U17 team. This much experience has enabled Lesley to teach netball at a national standard. Where as Mrs Hyams has a level one coaching qualification and no other netball coaching experience. Lesley Dixon represents the netball association she has a lot of pressure because if the national team is not winning matches they will not be bale to qualify for matches against other national teams in a well publicized tournament such as the qualify stages of a manger up coming tournament. This will look bad and the England team will lose support if they do not compete in major matches or tournaments. When Mrs Hyams prepares the netball teams for matches, there is not as much pressure because all netballs teams are entered in to tournaments. So there is no need for qualifying matches. There is also less pressure on Mrs Hyams because there is limited interest in the results of the Barclay netball team, so no one hears if they do well or not. School netball league is competitive but not as competitive as national games. Lesley Dixon gets paid every month for coaching the national England netball team, where as Mrs Hyams who coaches the school team out of school hours, does not get paid for doing so. When one of Lesley Dixon players is injured on court or suffers from injuries during training, she has the medical staff available to treat her players. So she doesnt have to have a medical or first aid qualification. Mrs Hyams has to have a first aid qualification, so when a member of the netball teams is injured, she has to treat them or escort them of court. Ways in which Mrs Hyams can improve her netball coaching ability is to go on level 2 netball coaching course at Bedfordshire Time Venue TBA. This will enable to teach netball at a higher standard and have more knowledge of the game. Mrs Hyams could also go on an beginner umpiring course at Eaton CNS School Easton Road Norwich, so when she umpires her netball teams matches and other netball teams; she can be more competent and confident in her decisions when umpiring. Most of netball team see Mrs Hyams more as a friend than a netball coach. This can sometime lead to a lack of concentration from the players, because we do not see her as an authoritive figure. To improve this Mrs Hyams could be disciplined, which would inevitable cause the team to be more focused. Although Mrs Hyams netball team, who she has coached since year seven have gone on to win the district tournament four years running. This shows Mrs Hyams dedication and hard work as well as the teams. There are not a lot of things Lesley Dixon could do to improve her netball coaching ability. One thing she could do is make netball more publicised so more people start to take notice of netball. This is because to be at a national coaching standard you need to be fully focused and qualified. These qualities are what makes a good coach and cant be faulted. Although Lesley Dixons team have recently failed to pass the test matches against Jamaica. Both types of netball coaches from national standard to school standard have to be knowledgeable about the game in order to lead and coach it to members of the team. The two different coaches have the same principle of coaching which is to teach the game, but have very different responsibilities.

Reflection Essay- Role Play of Zenur Levon Negotiation

Reflection Essay- Role Play of Zenur Levon Negotiation Self reflection states about own character, self knowledge, feelings and own thoughts and which part needed to improvement. In other words,Self reflection defines ones own weakness and strengths and about ones own behavior and experience (Neaum, 2012). In this self reflection, I will be explaining about my group experiences, Zenurs plan and how we got a best deal for our company through negotiation process. In this role play we followed the negotiation process steps like planning, discussion, bargaining about proposal offer and closing step. Zenur and Levon were well known companies. Zenur used the interactive model of effectively communication during the negotiation. Both companies had same business market. This negotiation process helped both companies to know about their weakness and strengths. The negotiation of Zenur with Levon went efficiently because both organizations had similar business areas and it was beneficial for both to influence the each others strengths. Zenur got information and data about Levon Company and made plan to achieve their goal and which brought benefit for both companies. In the process of negotiation, we came up with Zenur as a selling company. We discussed about our strategies, data, information, ideas and knowledge which we used during the negotiation to convince Levon Company. Moreover this information helped us to achieve our target. Zenur and Levon discussed their ideas, their company goals, achievements and their future plan with each others while negotiation. Because their share ideas, knowledge and helping each others helps to get a good performance in group activities (Bernstein, 2015). Levon gave three offers to take over Zenur Company which was $350 million with full control and $400 with full control of acquition. Zenur Company CEO (leader) discussed with Finance manager (myself) and we refused this offer because of some valid reason. Levon and Zenur were bargaining and discussed their companies point of view. Both companies agreed with $425 million with 50-50% profit sharing and will keep and give promotion to Zenur staff as we discussed with Levon. After this negotiation, both companies signed written contract and Zenur make sure that Levon will take three months for complete whole process. Zenur used their strategies, skills and styles at the different stages of the negotiation. Zenur meet with their own interests and plan which helped to bring benefits for both companies. In the role play Zenur was able to make their offer better because Zenur focused on their offer and tried to understand Levon current issues and their opinion. Through negotiation and bargaining, Zenur got deal with $425 with 50-50% profit sharing. As a finance manager, I was explained the present position, issues and plans of the Zenur company which will help Zenur and Levon to make their performance better. I was tried to explained companys legal requirement and objectives. I explained why we refused the offer and which are my company requirements? I tried to focus on our company benefits and get a best deal for Zenur. As a finance manager, I was trying to understand the Levons conditions and issues. I was a finance manager who was a one of negotiators of the team, I found some qualities like flexibilities, ability to understand the others point of view and focus on our companys goal. I was able to asked questions and give answers when its needed. I shared my opinions, thoughts and information with others during this process. Because when we working in a group team than every team members have to need to do their best to achieve their group goals and group achievement (DeVito, 2005). Overall, it was a very good experience for me to do work in a group which help me learnt how to communicate with each others. Also we should listen others opinion and ideas and give respect them. Because listening is important this can help us to convey our massage clear to others and helps to make our discussion better (Bernstein, 2015). Moreover as a finance manager learnt how to take a step or discussion immediately in any situation. Moreover, working in group play we can develop our relation with each others and help to make our performance better. I hadnt faced any language barriers in my group. References Bernstein, E. (2015). Many Lives, Many Masters Essay -- essays research papers

Many Lives Many Masters Many Lives, Many Masters is a book about a psychologist Brian L. Weiss, who by helping his patient he helps himself as well. Through Catherine he learned that his conventional approach through the scientific method and medication was not the proper way to heal his patients. Catherine comes in with anxiety, panic attacks and phobias and wants a way out of it all. Dr. Weiss approaches the situation in a scientific manner as he does with all of his patients, he doesn’t get very far until he decided to use hypnosis. He would have liked to use medication but her fear of swallowing pills prevented that. During hypnosis she begins to remember her childhood but not this childhood her past life. At first Dr. Weiss is very skeptical I mean there is no scientific explanation for this but he decides to continue. In her past lives he begins to discover why she has so many of the fears and phobias that she has. As well, during hypnosis she begins to identify others in her life now as some f rom her past lives. During one of these hypnosis after her death a different voice begins to speak. This voice knows things about Dr. Weiss’ past that no one else would and could know because he never shared the details with Catherine about his personal life. This Masters begins to tell him about his meaning in life, a message. One that through his religious beliefs as well as through his scientific methods he could not understand. The Masters spoke of many plains that were reached throughout your past lives. You could only reach these plains if you solved the problem you had in your life. For example, if you leave a life and never learn to trust in your next life, you must learn to trust. If this is achieved you would be able to reach to the next plain and receive more knowledge. He began to believe and listen. Through this listening, he began to have new meaning in his life and learned how to help Catherine through hers. He than began to try to reach the end of Catherineâ⠂¬â„¢s lives to get to the end in the hope that the Masters would relay another message through Catherine. The masters did not appear every time that Catherine remembered a death in her past life only when they decided to relay this message. These messages then stopped and Catherine was cured. Then years later Dr. Weiss believed it was time for him to pass this message to others through his b... ... was a phase in my life, which I had to learn from as difficult as it was for me it made me a much stronger person. They chose before they were born what they were to accomplish and when they should leave. The full meaning to why they passed away so young I don’t think I’ll fully be able to understand now but in time I will. Time should not be of so much importance to me. The idea of forever I think is the hardest for me to understand. I think even Marlo in Mutant Message didn’t fully understand the definition brought about by the â€Å"Real People.† It is also something, which in time we will be able to understand. I have to forget the past and worry about now and not that I won’t have time to do everything I want to do. I have a meaning and that is what I should focus on what I came to this life to do and learn. Only then will I be able to focus more clearly on what is important and not clutter my mind with everything that is going around me. I do think though that my meaning or at least on is to help people to be the alternative to medication as Dr. Brian Weiss believes now. I believe that through music therapy I will be able to help others and teach them to help themselves as well.

Graduation Speech: May You Have Joy and Sorrow :: Graduation Speech, Commencement Address

I would like to begin my speech with these beautiful words of wisdom: "Not enjoyment and not sorrow is our destined end or way but to act that each tomorrow brings us farther than today." Did you hear that? "Not enjoyment and not sorrow is our destined end or way, but to act that each tomorrow brings us farther than today." What, do you all have hearts of stone? Where are the tears? Don't you see it even rhymes? Way-today, today-way, see that? I guess I sound a little too bitter about this don't I? I don't mean to. I am actually excited to be speaking here today, even to be speaking about the class motto. I don't agree with it, but that doesn't mean I can't spend three minutes talking about it. Those of you who know me reasonably well know that there's not much I couldn't spend three minutes talking about. I've been told that I talk a lot. But there I go already, back to the class motto. Not enjoyment and not sorrow, but to act. There are some things that I regret about the last four years of my life, but the enjoyment and the sorrow certainly aren't among them. Life is all about the happy and the sad, and it should be. I don't want every day of my life to be measured by what I accomplished over the day before. Certainly, there are areas in which we as a society could use progress and action, but that should never exclude enjoyment and sorrow from being a part of living. Today, especially of all days, we should be thinking of these things. I am not worried this 8th of June about what I can do to advance myself past where I was on the seventh. I am worried about the fact that it is entirely possible that I may never see some of you again in my life after tonight. Not my best friends certainly, but all of those people we enjoy saying "Hi" to between periods, someone from an old team or a class in ninth grade. That's sorrow. But then it's surely not all bad. It's summer, maybe not on the calendar, but in our mi nds. This is the summer of our senior year. These are the three months out of our lives that most of our parents can only dream of returning to.

For exercise we do not have a formal routine, but we encourage outdoor activities as much and as often as possible. Television and game time is limited to one hour per day in our home and the time must be earned. The children receive a ten minute token for each chore that they complete and they can cash their tokens in after there home work has been completed. Fast Food and Economy Essay

Present essay addresses the negative issues of fast food in modern society through the prism of the comprehensive analysis of its affects on health, culture, ethics and economy. There is no denying the importance of the fact that the issue of the fast food became relevant as a result of the modern globalization processes, which influenced the spread of the ‘American’ style of nutrition through the mechanism of its commercialization.   The evolution of fast food, as Jakle suggests, dates back to the post-industrial era of Western society including rapid development of automobile roots and road restaurants (Jakle, 21-26). Such components of fast food as hot dogs, hamburgers etc. were traditionally the elements of national patterns of nutrition, however, due to economic and cultural globalization, mentioned products reached new markets and peoples and proclaimed themselves as generally accepted patterns of food consumption. Such transnational corporations as McDonalds represent the paramount of the latter processes, because they control not only national markets, but international markets of food consumption in general. Negative effects of fast food were widely addressed in journalist and scholarly research, however, comprehensive framework of its analysis as cultural and economic phenomena is not still created. Based on these reservations, present essay defends the following thesis: Fast food is characterized by the negative effects on several spheres of human life. First of all, consuming fast food results in poor health consequences and including stomach deceases, diabetes etc. Secondly, fast food results in the degradation of national cuisines and cultural patterns of consumption, based on the perception of consumption as a spiritual ritual, characterized by emotional and aesthetic satisfaction. Finally, the third sub-thesis of the present essay refers to negative economic consequences of fast food, because it results in the low priorities of national food industries due to monopolization of this market by such American giants as McDonalds. Health Implications Negative health implications of fast food are the most obvious and are generally the object of the harsh critique. Fast food contains large quantity of calories and fats, which results in the deterioration of biological metabolism and concentration of sugar in the human blood and consequently abnormal functioning of various organs.   As Adams suggests, fast food consumption is one the main causes of the obesity epidemics in many countries, including the most widespread implication for the abdominal fat (Adams, 155). The research on fast food implication on health also revealed that it develops signs of the insulin resistance, which may be described as the early indicator of such decease as diabetes (Obesity in America, 2008). As Schlosser, the author of Fast Food Nation suggest in this respect, ‘it seems wherever America’s fast food chains go, waistlines inevitably start expanding’ (Schlosser, 242). The problem of obesity as result of fast food consumption is evident in many Western and nowadays non-Western countries, where the fast food industry is the most developed. The problem is amplified by the fact that obesity is not officially acknowledged as the health problem or epidemics. Only health consequences of obesity on heart, lungs and other crucial organs are addressed, however the main problem is not resolved, because such approach deals with the secondary issues, but not the causes. The diet and healthy food consumption, however, becomes very difficult for the majority of ordinary people fast food market offers cheaper products. To sum it up, health implications of fast food are widely acknowledged which certifies to the relevance of the first sub-thesis. Cultural and Ethical Implications of Fast Food Negative cultural and ethical implications of fast food are connected with the mode of its production and consumption. Fast food represents an industrial pattern of production, which focuses on profit and quantity, rather than quality. It is standardized and utilizes products, which are not always biologically healthy. Such approach results in degradation of national cuisines, which traditionally focused on home-made products, which are to be properly served and properly eaten. This tradition is still present in restaurants; however the majority of people still are forced to consume fast food due to intense advertising and relative cheapness. Culture of fast food is something that is characterized by haste, rationalization, lack of spirituality and aesthetic beauty. Unlike prepared meals, fast food has nothing to do with creativity and professionalism and hence it lacks cultural meaning. Negative ethical implications of fast food production may be observed in mass slaughterhouses, where meat and other products are prepared. Schlosser describes the atmosphere, which reigns there in such a way, â€Å"burning hair and blood, that greasy smell, and the odor of rotten eggs.† (Schlosser, 68). Fast Food and Economy Fast food is inextricably connected with poverty, because it parasitizes on the majority of people, who have no financial possibility to consume healthy food. The latter is closely linked with the absence of adequate health education. The globalization of fast food market also results in the monopolization of the food market in the developing countries. McDonald’s hamburgers are currently the most famous type of food and are considered by many as tasty and trendy. National cuisines are still popular; however, the trend spreads in the direction of their defeat by fast food market. The latter negatively affects the economies of developing countries, which lose external markets. McDonalds-style monopolization aggravates poverty, existing in developing countries by means of degrading its health potential and consequently its labor market. Opposing Perspective on Fast Food Those, who support fast food usually point to its cheapness, fast preparation and availability. The first argument was criticized in this paper based on poor quality of fast food and its parasitizing on poverty; the second point proceeds from the false assumption that fast preparation is something valuable. In contrast, present paper showed that it results in poor consequences for health and culture. Conclusion Present essay defended the stated thesis that fast food negatively affects human health, culture, ethics and economy. Health implications are evident in the wide number of studies, as well apparent syndrome of obesity in Western countries. Cultural and ethical implications relate to the degradation of the patterns of spiritual and cultural food consumption, based on family   and national traditions. Finally, economic consequences refer to the trend of standardization of fast food production, its link with poverty and social inequality. References Adams, Catherine. The Hohokam vs. Mesopotamian Culture

Hohokam Culture (Pueblo Grande) Comparative Review (Short Comparative Essay) The Hohokam culture is in many ways similar to that of Ancient Mesopotamian culture. Much like the Pueblo Grande site, people of the Ubaid Period in ancient Mesopotamia built elaborate canal systems, groups of residential houses, and centralized buildings (such as â€Å"great houses† or other public buildings). Besides architecture, cultural practices shared by the two groups can be seen in early burial practices, games and agriculture. The canal system of the Hohokam matches a large portion of the prehistoric canals that predated their arrival. Much like the Hohokam, the ancient Mesopotamians built elaborate canals that were focused for irrigation and central water collection in similar arid desert environments. This supplied infrastructure for the development of the two cultures as a collective for village/city organization. The labor involved with building, operating and maintaining these canals req uired thousands of people.Craft production and agriculture among the Hohokam and Mesopotamian peoples was an important part of economy and trade. Agriculture dominated the growth of both cultures. Canal systems, as mentioned before, were used to irrigate crops enabling the cultures to sustain life in harsh arid environments. Architecture: the Hohokam built caliche adobe houses that surrounded the village centre which might contain a public building or a â€Å"great house† as we see at the Pueblo Grande site.In Mesopotamian sites, great ziggurats and other mudbrick public buildings were the focal point of the city. Residential houses surround these centres, whether occupied by elite members or commoners. Other public buildings or architecture that is similar can be seen in that of areas where games and ceremonies were held. The Hohokam created ball courts that were alternatively used for trading centers. In Mesopotamia, they played majore, which is a game similar to that of Ru gby where masses would gather and watch as a collective.Burial Practices: in both Hohokam and Mesopotamian (city-states such as Surghal and El-Hibba) cultures, cremation was an early burial practice. Though inhumation later replaced this practice, it served as a vital religious act in care of their dead. In summary; I feel that given more time to research both of these cultures, I could find more similarities of the two. Regardless of the time and distance that separate them both, there are striking parallels.
